delivering to men vs women

I have worked for daVinci’s for over twenty years. The first four years as a delivery driver, the next three as a swing and assistant manager, then eleven as a general manager and now the last two as a delivery driver again. My daVinci’s career has come full circle. I really like being a driver. What I don’t like is delivering to day cares.
I know there are many many differences between men and women but the only one that matters to delivery drivers is how groups of them pay for food deliveries. Generally speaking when a delivery for a group of guys shows up one of the men states “I got this, you guys can pay me back.” He then hands the driver a wad of cash and the driver heads on for the next delivery.
When the driver shows up to deliver to a group of women it is a different story. First the driver is met by the entire group of women and one calculator. The first thing they ask for is the receipt then the work starts. There is no “I got this”, no “you all can just pay me back”. It is “here is a ten I owe 6.36”, “here is a five I owe 4.95”, “here is 8 I owe 7.23”, and on and on until everyone has paid. By the time it is all over the driver has no idea how much money he has actually collected. In the end all the driver can hope for is that the math is correct and that he collected enough to cover the bill.
